What guests are saying

  • "Happy to have found such a gem."

We’ve stayed at a few places on SS and we’re happy to have found such a gem! This is a wonderful little cottage that is private, peaceful and clean plus has all the essentials! We absolutely loved the fireplace (lots of firewood given) and the surroundings. The hosts are lovely and very responsive; the cottage is fenced so provided lots of privacy and was very clean. The kitchen was well-stocked with all your essentials, which we really appreciate. Bed was comfy and wifi was fast. We definitely will come back in the warmer months as we’d love to enjoy the outdoor fire pit. And sit out on the decking. If you’re looking for a truly peaceful, cozy retreat then this is the place!

  • "Felt right at home with a fire already going."

Amei was a great communicator, and very fast to respond. Felt right at home with a fire already going. Very close to the ferry. Very peaceful, private, safe and quiet! Kitchen was well stocked. USB and cable c connections available on the lamps on bedroom. The loft is so cozy and cute. This for my family of 4 easily. If you're thinking of staying here, DO IT! You won't regret it. Thanks again, Amei!! We'll be back, for sure.

  • "Beautiful, quiet, cozy and serene."

After the Christmas festivities, my 3 year old said he wanted to go to a Salt Spring solitude competition lol. This was exactly what that was. Beautiful, quiet, cozy, and serene. The home was just perfect for a small family looking for a rejuvenating experience. The loft was especially exciting for a mama who needed some quiet time. We loved exploring and walking around the mossy rocks and playing in the fairytale landscape. It was a lovely vacation for everyone. Thank you, Amei.

  • BY FERRY FROM VANCOUVER ISLAND

Travel to Salt Spring Island from Vancouver Island (near Victoria or Duncan). During these two short and scenic trips, you may see orcas or porpoises, seals, sea lions, cormorants, oyster catchers, and eagles while on board BC Ferries!

    1. Victoria (Swartz Bay) to the south end of Salt Spring Island (Fulford Harbour) - ~35-minute crossing. Fulford Harbour is about 15 minutes (10 km) from the Willow Loft.

    1. Crofton to the north end of Salt Spring Island (Vesuvius) - ~20-minute crossing . Vesuvius is about a 35-minute drive to the Willow Loft.

    * Please note that you cannot make reservations for trips to Fulford or Vesuvius.

    * Purchasing a BC Ferries “Experience Card” will give you a discount if you’re considering multiple visits!

    BY FERRY FROM VANCOUVER

From Vancouver (Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal) there are a few options. There is a direct 1.5-hour trip to Long Harbour or a 3-hour trip with multiple island stops.

Alternatively, you can purchase a “thoroughfare” ticket, where you will take one boat from Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay), and then take a second boat from Victoria (Swartz Bay Terminal) to Salt Spring (Fulford Harbour). Let BC ferries know you are doing the “thoroughfare” to Salt Spring (Fulford Harbour), and you will get special placement on the boat and directions about how to drive out of the Victoria (Swartz Bay) Terminal and u-turn and come back in for your ride to Salt Spring (Fulford Harbour). It’s far less complicated than it sounds and can give some more flexible schedule options as these boats run more frequently.
